It's HERE! My book - For Success Sake!
From 'Martha to Mother' was the name of the first book I started writing.
I had taken leave from Martha Stewart Living to care for my 9-month-old twins, who were battling respiratory issues. I could no longer juggle a 90-minute commute into NYC, a big job, marriage, and taking care of three kids; two with health issues with the oldest just two years old.
Growing up with a mom who worked for big banks in big jobs and the influence of Ms. and More Magazines and the ‘hear me roar’ attitudes, I and my 90's shoulder pads wanted it all. I shamed and blamed myself for not being that Superwoman.
So, while the kids slept, I started writing about my journey and others struggling with the elusive and not really possible work/life balance. It was a mix of my story, research, and quotes from the likes of Cher to Gloria Steinem.
Along the way, my writing time gave way to being a wife and mom and ultimately returning to work full-time. Then I got divorced.
A few years ago, after a long career in media and a life pivot to coaching and consulting, I had a nudge to write the book again. When I opened my computer, which held my ‘From Martha to Mother’ research and writing, I found the file was corrupted, and the book was lost. What!?
I’m happy to share that my dream of writing a book didn’t end there.
Almost four years ago, I started this Sunday Sunshine weekly email to help high performers battle the Sunday scaries before the work week. I believe that with a few new thoughts and exercises, readers will feel motivated and inspired to create their extraordinary week.
Fast forward, after nudging from friends and family, I'm proud to share that I’ve written a book based on my most popular weekly posts.
For Success Sake!
Simple Steps for Extraordinary Possibilities in Life and Business.
For Success Sake! was written for anyone who has an itch for more and wants to do the work to get decided to move from wanting to having success.
For me, success is a feeling not from money, titles, or things but from joy, ease, and impact.
While I looked perfect on paper with 30 years of experience working for big-name media brands, including Martha Stewart and Fast Company, I was perfectly miserable.
This self-created misery was driven by work that felt unfulfilling and from something inside of me that felt I was made for more or something else.
My misery and stress, I believe, were contributing factors to my AML Leukemia diagnosis in 2019. (Please don’t wait for a cancer diagnosis or another health crisis to become the best version of yourself or to create what you want for your life.)
I am now the C.E.O. of Me. and the book will take you through becoming the C.E.O. of YOU. Inside this easy read are frameworks, ideas, practices, exercises, and a few stories to inspire you to do the work to create your extraordinary life. There are also accompanying worksheets to help you move from reading to getting started.
Today, misery has been replaced by more ease, joy, and the feeling that I'm having an impact and living on purpose. Not every day, of course, but most days. Coaching C.E.O.s and high performers is so much more than a job. It’s a calling.
Here is a PDF is the first chapter of For Success Sake! The book is available during launch week for .99 cents on Amazon Kindle. I would be grateful if you would read it and, over the moon, if you would kindly offer a testimonial.
I am an example of what’s possible, and I believe, from the bottom of my heart, that each and every one of you can be your own example of what’s possible.
Thank you for being a part of my community and my success. I love hearing from you with your feedback, ideas for future posts, and your thanks for something that has touched you. Your support has meant the world to me.
If you are considering working with a Coach or want to know more about the components of a Coaching engagement, let’s get on a call with this link.
The question I get most frequently on these calls, ‘what results can I achieve?’ Here’s what one client shared:
"The biggest impact working with Christina ..."Thoughts control your emotions, which control your actions"...You cannot have a positive action from a negative thought or emotion. Journaling as a tool to help "clear the cobwebs" in order to have more productive thinking has made a huge impact. "
High performance business coaching, executive leadership coaching, life coaching combined for massive value and impact on your life and business.
