How to Be an Accomplished CEO and Be Happy

I will not be a hypocrite who tells my daughter she can be, have, and do ANYTHING she wants in her life and not do it myself.

I refuse to be an example of life un-lived.

I refuse to be the thing standing in my way. (This I know so well!)

This is my mission, this is why I now do what I do.

I share strategies, tools, and resources to help you decide not to live a life un-lived but to achieve more than you think is possible.

To be, have, and do anything you want is possible. I know this because I’m an example of that possibility.

With three decades leading big teams at Martha Stewart and Fast Company with a title that had Chief in front of it, I thought I had achieved. While I was ‘perfect’ on paper, my insides did not match my outside.

I wanted so desperately to help people, but first, I needed to help myself.

  • Rediscover who I was.

  • Decide and define what success meant to me.

  • Create it even if it meant losing my title, my big salary, and moving to another lane mid-life. This was mind-blowing to me when I finally saw it.

I now help people see what they can’t see. And focus them on seeing what they can see more clearly.

I knew it, but I needed to own it.

When I realized the impact I could make on people’s lives, I began to see myself in a way that was so much more powerful than any title or salary.

I saw things differently when I did the work to understand quality over quantity.

The QUANTITY of things I spent my time COLLECTING — title, salary, sales, and that-a-boys, felt empty.

The QUALITY I sought was impact, ease, and joy. I wanted freedom driven by financial independence, time independence, choice independence. That, for me, was a life of quality.

Where are you collecting?

What is your quality of life?

What qualities...

  • Give you fulfillment?

  • Create a feeling of joy?

  • Get you excited?

  • Give you hope?

  • Reflect where you spend your time?

  • Do you want to be remembered by?

Quantity is generating followers, spending time online, and looking at others for comparison—the negative byproduct of this is shame, blame, doubt, and lack. Most of the time, we are not even aware of this.

Working towards quality (said another way: freedom) can only be defined by you, but consider:

  • What do you need to strip away?

  • What will you no longer tolerate?

  • Where are you spending your time?

  • What are you not doing that you wish to do?

Helping others for me was generative. What’s generative for you?

I made the big leap.

You can too.

Don’t wait for the right time. There is no right time, just the time you make right.

When you do the work of defining your quality over quantity, the results are life and career-changing. Here are a few of the results shared by my clients.

"I learned where I should really be investing my time versus where I was choosing to spend my time because it was easy. The latter helped me make concrete decisions about sales and reduced my 3 am anxiety about whether or not I've been selling enough."

"It's incredibly liberating, and I feel so much lighter and happier as a result."

"The catalyst that got me to a place where I had a true belief in myself."

"This was terrifying, and felt like I was doing the exact thing I was supposed to do."

"I love who I have become and the possibilities of my future."

"I think the biggest thing is how I see myself – still lots to grow into, though!"

"Working through exercises to understand the why behind the why was very helpful. Taking the time to speak, think, process, and write allows the subconscious thoughts to reveal, and that has helped me overcome several situations within the workplace and personally."

"This work, our work, has changed me. I can't wait to see what I do next month."

"If it's a possibility to do that every quarter (we will see!) I will double on my previous year and be on the way to a seven-figure business."

If you are ready to show up, own your expertise, and learn how to sustainably scale your business to multi-six and seven figures, email me at christina@christinalangdon.com to learn how my process, the C.E.O. Playbook, and the future that's waiting for you.
