Harness AI for Entrepreneurial Success
AI technology is indeed changing the world.
But the most powerful 'AI' is the built-in AI supercomputer, which is your brain.
AI = Awareness & Imagination
I shared Elon Musk’s 5 Steps to Change in a previous post. While we intellectually understand that change requires action, there's another underlying program at play.
It's your survival brain. It operates on autopilot, and its primary function is to protect you.
Here's how it shows up:
Procrastinating on hard decisions
Hesitating to commit to new ventures
Avoiding difficult conversations
Chasing the next shiny object
Repeating the same default patterns
I call this...
TUC = The Unconscious Consciousness
As a high performer, you get things done. Your unconscious consciousness is incredibly productive yet not always efficient:
You check off every task on your to-do list.
You push yourself to do too much.
You end up feeling exhausted at the end of the day.
When you're constantly busy doing, you rarely take the time to evaluate, reflect, or integrate what you've learned, what's working, and what you want more of and less of.
This lack of conscious editing leads to more work without achieving your desired outcomes.
The brain naturally fixates on what you don’t want.
Without a regular practice of editing, you miss out on:
Recognizing what is working
New clarity
Knowing where you're headed
Connecting to what you truly want
Identifying what would improve your well-being
Determining what needs to be true for your goals to be achievable
Give yourself the space to live more consciously toward the future you want - those desires that will go unmet unless you get out of the default of the day and focus on what you want for yourself.
A routine editing practice transforms both how you lead yourself and the impact you make.
Don't fall into the trap of thinking that changing your mind makes you look weak. This isn't about being flaky; it's about making edits for clarity, focus, and forward momentum.
Life editing is fundamental to growth and achieving your vision of success.
Journaling is a powerful tool in this practice. It provides the time and space to reflect on:
What’s working?
What’s not working?
What will I do differently going forward?
These three questions form an editing practice - a constant state of improvement.
Success is not a destination; it's the journey and experience.
Living more consciously involves transforming the unconscious default of your day into a purposeful practice that drives you forward.
With new awareness comes choice, and from choice, you gain:
Control
Freedom
Power
Intention
You get to decide.
Here's another effective editing exercise:
What do you want to STOP?
What do you want to START?
What will you CONTINUE?
Use your life edit practice to improve, pivot, and adjust.
Simple questions can lead to profound changes and a more conscious way of living.
What will you edit this week to have more impact?
