Don’t Let Distractions Derail Your Success
Are you someone with a ton of ideas, dreams, and inspirations?
You want it all.
A big appetite for so many things … but then uncertainty sets in.
Uncertainty is a dream killer.
Uncertainty leads to confusion that has you playing smaller.
You CAN have it all.
All of the dreams, profit makers, partnerships, and big things.
Just not all at one time.
Think about it like being in a candy store -- like Dylan’s Candy Bar here.
I love candy. My husband would say I had an addiction when we first met. A boxing match would break out in my head when I went through the supermarket checkout line. My mouth would water from an uncontrollable desire to grab as many Gummy Bears and chocolate as I could get my hands on without the cashier taking notice. I wanted it all. I still do.
I can have those Gummy Bears and chocolate, but for my health and weight, I simply cannot have it all in one sitting.
You too can have all that you want but not all at the same time without the health of your business suffering.
I see too many CEOs trying to do too many things at one time creating stress for them and on the business and it shows up in their results.
If you are sitting in uncertainty, confusion, and feeling stuck about all of the things or you are already trying to do it all, instead, do one thing and do it exceptionally well.
Consider that one thing as a gateway to bigger things.
That may sound simplistic -- doing just one thing.
But it's doing one thing to get to the next and the next.
Clean up operations before launching that new product.
Hire your #2 before taking on more clients.
Whatever your needle mover for the business, do it so well that you learn and grow and take it with you into the next big thing.
Use the Act, Audit & Adapt technique to get you there with less stress and more impact.
How long are you willing to wait to have it all?
Prioritizing doesn't mean giving up on the big picture and all you want to accomplish. Doing all of the things starts by calendaring all of your big ideas.
Funny thing happens when you put it on the calendar in the future.
-It quells your insatiable appetite to do now.
-It becomes real.
-It prioritizes your future.
-It has you doing all of the things over time.
Doing all of the things over time feels so much better than doing them all at once with sub-optimal results.
For the health of your business, look at what you want to get done and give yourself permission to give yourself a lot of time to do it all.
Dream makers create certainty by making decisions to prioritize, plan and create.
Remember, you are the most influential person in your world, and when you recognize your influence over you, it's a game changer.
You CAN have your cake (or candy) and eat it too.
P.S. Help spread some Sunday Sunshine. I would be grateful if you shared this with someone who could bolt of sunshine before the work week ahead.
If you are considering working with a Coach or want to know more about the components of a Coaching engagement, let’s get on a call with this link.
"I was recently promoted to Sales Lead. It wasn't an easy road to move into this new position but luckily I had Christina by my side as my coach to help me get in the right mindset and push me to show up on my A game every day to demonstrate my leadership abilities.
I've grown so much since working with her and can't wait for all of the new challenges I'll get to tackle with her as my sounding board pushing me beyond my comfort zone in this next phase of the job."
